Tier Two Vocabulary;
- You will be encouraged to develop and apply you vocabulary in two ways at Thomas Gainsborough School. Each subject uses some words that are specific to that subject. These are called Tier 3 words and you are likely to receive vocabulary lists with these on.
- You will also be issued with a vocabulary book of Tier 2 words. These are words that occur frequently in written texts, including exam papers but are spoken far less. They can sometimes also mean more than one thing.
- Understanding more tier 2 words can unlock your understanding of texts that you have to read for school and instructions in exam papers that you have to sit.
