In March 2023, Thomas Gainsborough School submitted a bid to the Department for Education to become a flexible working ambassador school (FWAMS). In June 2023, the Department for Education chose seven schools across England to be a FWAMS. We were awarded this position because of our unique approach to flexible working practices across all sectors of our school, and the role will enable us to support other schools across the East of England in developing their working practices to become more adept at embracing the principles of flexible working.
We are available to lend capacity and support to schools across the East of England who are looking at how to embrace flexible working practices to support wellbeing and to aid recruitment and retention.
