Dame Lin Homer visited our school on Tuesday 22nd October to give an assembly style presentation to years 12 & 13.

The 60 minute talk and Q&A proved very popular with our students, and Dame Homer stayed answering student questions for a further 30mins.

Former CEO of HMRC & Former Head of UK Border Agency and Department of Transport. Lin Homer is the former Permanent secretary and Former Chief Executive of HM Revenue and Customs, a role she undertook in January 2012. Prior to this she was the Permanent Secretary at the Department for Transport. Before that, Lin was Chief Executive of the UK Border Agency at the Home Office. Previously Lin has been Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council (2002-2005) and Chief Executive of Suffolk County Council (1998-2002) and prior to that was Deputy Chief executive at Hertfordshire County Council. Lin is a qualified lawyer, and holds a number of NED roles in the charity and third sector including University of Birmingham and Centre for Ageing Better. Lin was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the Bath in the January 2016 New Year's Honours for public services, particularly to public finance.
